Planned Parenthood of the Heartland had 60 youth raise money and supplies for Noah's Hope Animal Shelter. This was a long-term project that took a lot of planning, leadership, and communication.
The Youth Volunteer Corps spent their afternoon off during Spring break to assemble literacy kits which will be delivered to local needs. These students are leaders in their community and are an active voice in addressing a variety of needs. This is already their second project for GYSD!
Two of Community Youth Concepts after-school program's lead projects to address and combat stressors among their peers. Hiatt Middle School's Young Innovators Club and Woodside Girls' Group discussed unhealthy behaviors among their school and brainstormed ways to positively increase school culture. This is such awesome and impacting work by some young, creative, and caring minds!
There's even more in store for week 3 so stay tuned!
